As a result of the reorganization of Fine Arts 1b and of the wide popularity of the lecturer in the course, George H. Edgell, professor of Fine Arts and dean of the Faculty of Architecture, the attendance at the first meeting of the course was unusually large yesterday morning.
Formerly the course was called Fine Arts 1d and was given in the second half year as a half course. This year the course was extended to cover the whole year, so that the subject under discussion, the History of Occidental Art from the Fall of Rome to the Present Day, might be covered in more detail.
Freshmen are admitted to the course for the first time this year, and in the future it will be open only to Freshmen and Sophomores. As a result of this rule many upper classmen are taking the course this year because it will be their last opportunity.
