Lew Conrad, nationally known New York singer and orchestra leader, will be present at the Freshman Jubilee, it was announced last night by William H. Schmidt, 2nd. '37, chairman of the committee.
Conrad, who has a contract with the National Broadcasting Company and sings in the Lucky Strike hour, will not bring his orchestra, but he will be on hand to croon with the other bands at the dance and will supply other special entertainment.
Two orchestras have been engaged for the occasion, and the contracts have been signed. The other stage celebrities who also will appear during the course of the evening of the Jubilee will be announced next week.
Freshmen are advised to buy their tickets early, in as much as the price will be raised slightly at the door. Plans for the decorations are advancing at a steady rate, and something rather special is expected in the Union Dining Hall where the Rauce will be held.
