Tomorrow night at 7.30 o'clock the doors of the CRIMSON will be opened again for the members of the Freshman and Sophomore classes when the final competitions for the News, Business, Photographic, and Editorial Board will begin.
The Editorial competition will have a maximum duration of eight weeks, but candidates may be elected to the Editorial Board as soon as they show adequate ability in any length or time under eight weeks
Duties of Candidates
The principal duty of the candidate will he to hand in one editorial each evening preceding an issue of the CRIMSON. In addition candidates may write Yesterdays, Crime Columns, and Book Reviews if they show particular ability along those lines. To those Sophomores who are interested in editorial writing the competition offers an opportunity for practice in clear, concise, and thoughtful expression of opinion on topics of national or college interest.
Successful candidates in addition to having the satisfaction of doing something well, will have new vistas opened to them by a chance for permanent and complete participation in all activities carried on by the CRIMSON. The experience gained in college journalism may serve as a stepping stone to endeavors later in life and the work furnishes excellent practice for those intending to enter journalism after graduation. The candidate will be given an opportunity to concentrate on the type of writing for which he is best fitted.
