Student Franchise To Be Discussed Friday Evening

Josephy States Platform of Lowell House Forum

To discuss the extension of the voting privilege to college men, politically minded students will gather in the Lowell House Common Room at 8 o'clock Friday evening, under the auspices of the Liberal Club. As a result of the proceedings it is expected that a petition will be drafted, asking other colleges to participate in the movement.

"We wish to have opposition at the meeting, in order to know what form our difficulties will assume." yesterday declared Alvin M. Josephy '36, instigator of the legislative agitation.

Platforms in the suffragist platform are (1) that the college student of 21 has sufficient mentality to vote; (2) that his expression of opinion would exert a good influence; and (3) that such a measure would stimulate greater interest in public affairs.

Sponsors of the meeting are Charles R. Cherington '35, John L. Davidson, Jr. '37., John H. Haring '36, Dayton W. Hull '35, Grinnell Jones, Jr. '36, Alonzo B. Knight '36, Thomas H. Quinn '36, and William C. Oursler '37.
