Rollins College Swordsmen Yield To Skilled Crimson Duelling

Winning nine straight foil matches and losing only one match in the sabre and epee events, the Varsity fencing team proved too strong for Rollins yesterday and downed the Florida men 16 to 1. The Crimson men, expecting a close contest, dueled exceedingly well, and had little trouble in winning their ninth victory which keeps their undefeated record intact.

Foils: Robert C. Ackerman '35 defeated Deming (R), 5-2, MacGaffin (R), 5-1, and Prentice (R), 5-3; John G. Hurd '34 defeated Prentice (R), 5-1, Deming (R), 5-0, and MacGaffin (R), 5-0; Philip E. Lilienthal '36 defeated MacGaffin (R), 5-3, Deming (R), 5-1, and Prentice (R), 5-0.

Epee: Prentice (R), defeated Edward E. Langenau '35, 2-1; Langenau defeated MacGaffin (R), 2-1; Webster F. Williams '35, defeated MacGaffin (R), 2-0, and Prentice (R), 2-0.

Sabre: Edward A. Ackerman '34 defeated Prentice (R), 5-1, and Deming (R), 5-1; Richard Morgan '36 defeated Deming (R), 5-3; Morton Grant '36 defeated Prentice (R), 5-2.
