Arrangements that will add the University of Virginia to the Harvard football schedule, have been completed by the Athletic Associations of the two institutions, it was learned last night.
The Cavaliers, who last appeared in the Stadium in the fall of 1931, will replace New Hampshire on the Harvard schedule. Virginia came to New England this fall to meet Dartmouth, and was defeated by the Indians.
In addition to the signing of Virginia, H.A.A. officials are negotiating with Navy in an attempt to secure a series with the Midshipmen, starting in 1936. If such a series can be arranged, it will be on a home-and-home basis, with Harvard travelling to Annapolis in 1937.
It has been rumored that Harvard is planning to arrange a series with the Army and the Navy playing in the Stadium on alternate years, but no confirmation of this report has been forth-coming from the H.A.A.
If satisfactory arrangements for the Navy series cannot be made, it is expected that Harvard will schedule a game with Cornell or a "Big-Ten" Conference team.
