BASKETBALL TEAM MAY HAVE NIGHT PRACTICE

Difficulties in accomodating the men who are out for basketball have arisen at the Indoor Athletic Building because of the extra burden of Freshman basketball imposed on it by the closing of the Hemenway Gymnasium for college use.

Last year all Freshman basketball was carried on at Hemenway, but since it has been completely turned over to graduate school activities, accomodations in the Indoor Athletic Building will have to be arranged for this large number of Freshmen.

College handball, which was entirely carried on at Hemenway, was necessarily discontinued by the closing of the building to college students, and it is expected that some men who would normally have played handball will turn to basketball.

The situation has become so pressing, according to Norman W. Fradd, Assistant Director of Physical Education, that the Varsity basketball practice may have to be held in the evenings. Mr. Fradd declared however, that he believed evening practice to be in direct contrast with Harvard's principles, and everything would be done to prevent it.

A meeting will be held today at which either a satisfactory afternoon schedule will be arranged, or some other solution decided upon. Evening practice will only be held if every effort to utilize more floor space fails.
