"The Status of the Jew Under Modern Nationalistic Governments," will be the subject of a discussion tonight in the Philips Brooks House at 8 o'clock under the sponsorship of the Harvard Menorah Society.
Short resumes of the topic will be given by Charles B. Feibleman '36, secretary of the Debating Council, and David Fuss 3L, and then the meeting will be turned over to the audience for open discussion from the floor.
To Discuss German Crisls
In view of the wide variety of opinion on ways and means of alleviating the present crisis in Germany and preventing similar outbursts in other countries, a lively session is expected. The speakers will enlarge upon the ideals set forth by Arthur N. Holcombe '06, professor of Government in his recent address to the Society on "Experiments in Government," in which he laid much of the blame for the present state of affairs on a sanguine youth and a disappointed and disillusioned older generation.
Zionism Ruled Out
The officers of the Society have arbitrarily ruled out the simpler solution offered by Zionism in order to stimulate new thought on this controversial subject. Other solutions that will be suggested by the speakers are: a determined effort toward friendship and cordial relations toward conflicting minorities, greater homogeneity with the national community and perhaps assimilation.
All members of the University are cordially invited by the Society to attend the meeting and take part in the discussion.
