Although anticipating no serious opposition, the Varsity baseball team will send its full strength onto the field this afternoon at 4 o'clock to face the Amherst Varsity nine, in the fifth Crimson encounter of the season. If the game this afternoon proves successful for the Crimson. Harvard will oppose its principal Eastern Intercollegiate League rival, Columbia, next Saturday, with a full slate of victories.
The starting Crimson twirler this afternoon will be either McJennett or Tobe, as Loughlin is scheduled to start against Columbia Saturday. The remainder of the starting line-up will be composed of regular first-staring players.
Tomorrow's encounter will be the second of the season for the visiting team. In its opening game, last Saturday, Amherst lost to Clark University, 2-1. The Freshman team will meet the Boston University Freshmen on Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock this afternoon, while he Jayvee team will face Dean Academy this afternoon at 4 o'clock on Soldiers Field. In their last game, last Saturday, the Jayvees were downed 7-0 by Tufts, in any icy game on Soldiers Field.
