Finals for the Boylston and Lee Wade speaking prizes will be held this evening at 8 o'clock in Paine Hall of the Music Building. Of the ten contestants who survived the first two elimination contests, four will be awarded prizes. Robert Saltonstall '33, president of the Student Council, will preside at the event. The judges include: R. I. Lee '01, member of the corporation, Henry Pennypacker '88, chairman of the Committee on Admissions, and R. M. Russell '14, Mayor of Cambridge.
The ten speakers will be: G. H. Acheson '33, Lincoln Bryant, Jr. '33, A. B. Gardiner, 3d '33, H. M. Lawn '34, S. M. Peyser '34, A. E. Phillips, Jr. '34, Leo Srole '33, D. M. Sullivan '33, C. W. Yungblut '34, J. R. Yungblut '35.
The competition, which has been held under the supervision of F. C. Packard, Jr. 20, assistant professor of Public Speaking, started out with 54 candidates. The difficulty of this year's competition is proved by the fact that two of last year's winners did not even quality for the finals. The winner will be awarded the Lee Wade prize for $50, and the runner-up will get the first Boylston prize of $50. Two other Boylston prizes, of $35 apiece, will be given to the next two speakers who place in the contest.
