Flat denials of the story that K. B. Murdock '16, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, had been nominated by the Corporation for President of the University were made last night by numerous officials. T. N. Perkins '91, a member of the Corporation, said, "No action has yet been taken, nor can any decision be made until the next meeting of the Corporation, on Monday, April 10."
Reports of Dean Murdock's nomination for the presidency were published in the Boston Post yesterday morning, and were generally recognized as being merely unfounded rumors. W. I. Nichols '26, secretary for Information, said, "To the best of my knowledge no decision has been taken. I do not think any attempt will be made until Monday, April 10, when the Corporation and the Board of Overseers meet simultaneously." According to the Constitution of the University both of these bodies must approve the election before it can become official.
