Tryouts For Brown Debate Will Be Held on Tuesday

In a meeting of the Freshman Debating Council yesterday, presided over by Asa E. Phillips '34, President of Varsity Debating, Bennett Frankel '37, and Herbert H. Nexon '37 were elected the council's chairman and secretary, respectively.

Tryouts for the Brown Debate will be held on Tuesday night from seven to nine at the Union, where candidates will be prepared to speak on either side of the subject: "Resolved, That the N. R. A. should be a permanent part of the American system of government.

Debates with Brown, Holy Cross, and the University of Vermont have been arranged, although dates for them have not yet been chosen. Possible debates are with Exeter, Andover, and Milton Academies, and Noble and Greenough School.
