Two new men, Eddy Rogers and Allan Sherman, will be in the starting lineup when the Varsity meets the Army in the Stadium this Saturday. These changes were revealed at the close of a drab and uninteresting practice session at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon.
Both Rogers and Sherman have had considerable experience in the previous games this year, and Rogers' promotion was not unexpected. Since the beginning of the year he has been giving Leon Francisco a neck-and-neck race for the left tackle berth. Francisco has started all games so far.
Practice yesterday consisted of the usual drill on fundamentals, followed by a pass-defence and pass-attack session. Coach Eddie Casey put his "A" team against the "B" team in a dummy scrimmage, and then tried the "B" and "C" teams against each other, but he risked no chance of losing another player through injuries. "Red" Choate definitely will not get into the battle this Saturday, and Walter White will take his place at left end. The lineup will be: White, l.e.; Rogers, l.t.; Crane, l.g.; Casey, c.; Gundlach, r.g.; Kopans, r.t.; Nazro, r.e.; Haley, q.b.; Sherman, Locke, l.h.b.; Lane, r.h.b.; Dean, f.b.
