LOWELL HOUSE IS FIRST UNIT TO EVOLVE DESTINCTIVE TIE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Lowell House neckties are now for sale at the Harvard Cooperative Society, bearing a decoration scheme planned by Benjamin Rowland '28, Tutor in the Division of Fine Arts.

Last fall, all of the Houses selected colors and some decided to have ties, scarves, and blazers for House members, as well as special insignia for participation in House Athletics. Lowell is the first unit to start carrying out the plan.

Black is the background for the Lowell cravat, while narrow light blue stripes run diagonally across it at intervals of about two inches; here and there are placed little silver hands grasping three silver arrows.
