Delegations representing 17 different countries will convene in the New Lecture Hall tonight at 7.30 o'clock for the second meeting of the Harvard League of Nations, which was founded last spring by Peregrine White '33, with the aid of W. Y. Elliott, professor of Government. D. H. Wills 2G has been chosen as speaker for the winter session of the Assembly.
Agenda for the meeting tonight has been prepared by the preparatory committee of the League, assisted by B. C. Hopper '24, assistant professor of Government. In conducting the meeting, the speaker will direct the procedure of the discussion and determine what amendments to the resolution are relevant and in order. The debates will be based upon the resolution of the French delegation urging the League of Nations to arm. No other resolutions will be in order from the floor, but the wording of the resolution will be subject to amendment after ample time has been allowed for debate on the subject.
Not Bound by League Rules
Several of the countries represented in the Harvard League are not members of the Geneva League. This is made possible by the rule of the League here that membership and procedure of the body are not to be determined by the original at Geneva. Accordingly, Russia and the United States will be seated as regular members of the Harvard League.
The Foreign Students Committee of Brooks House, under the chairmanship of M. S. Knowles '34, has expressed the hope that the debates will not be limited by the national policies of the various delegations, but that individual opinions will be expressed. All students are invited to attend but may not take part in the discussion.
The following nations will be represented in the Assembly: Abyssinia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Czecho-Siovakia, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Irish Free State, Japan, Russia, Siam, Switzerland.
