Dedication services for the new Harvard Memorial Church in the Yard have been set for Armistice Day, Friday, November 11, at 11 o'clock in the morning. Plans for the service are being prepared under the direction of W. L. Sperry, chairman of the Board of Preachers. Details are to be announced later.
Alumni Gifts
The new church has been built by the Harvard alumni as a World War Memorial. The original proposal was made by the Associated Clubs and accepted by the President and Fellows of Harvard College. The raising of funds for the Memorial was undertaken by the National Committee for the Harvard War Memorial, of which Allston Burr '89 was chairman, and Charles Francis Adams '88 treasurer.
Construction of the Memorial Church was begun in July, 1931. It stands on the site of the former Appleton Chapel.
