"Anyone who believes that the present state of affairs in America is a result of the faults inherent in the Capitalist system must turn away from both the Republican and Democratic parties," said K. F. Mather, professor of geology and head of the Massachusetts branch of the League for Independent Political Action in an interview yesterday.
"Neither of the two old parties," continued Professor Mather, "has demonstrated its ability to meet the requirements imposed by modern economic, industrial and financial affairs here in America. A new party, entirely independent of all existing political organizations, will presumably be born within the next few years. A vote for Norman Thomas is more than a protest against the present, political regime; it is a way of hastening the organization of a new, independent, progressive, party."
