A steady sextet of jayvee players downed the opposition from Belmont Hill at the Boston Garden late yesterday afternoon, finishing with a 4 to 2 victory. The cooperation shown by the Crimson throughout in the second hockey team season opener bids well for a victory against Noble and Greenough on Saturday.
The jayvees had some tight moments in the first and last periods when Dewey, the Belmont center, made his unassisted tallies. He was the only individual star of the game. R. A. B. Braggiotti '33 contributed to the victory with a spectacular shot in the opening seconds of the second stanza. Accurate passing and shooting were much in evidence in the second period onslaught, and the jayvee defence, though not often threatened, functioned well.
Score--Harvard 4, Belmont Hill 2.
Goals--First period, Dewey (unassisted), 4.06; Gleason (unassisted) 7.19. Second period, Braggiotti (Stone) 1.00; Black, (J. Ware, Kirkland) 8.23; N. Ware, (unassisted) 9.17. Third period, Dewey (unassisted). Referees--Raymond, Robinson. Time--Three 15-minute periods.
