Juniors who are to take part in this year's summer cruise, under the requirements of the Harvard Department of Naval Science, will leave the port of Boston on June 20, according to an announcement made yesterday by, Captain B. B. Wygant, the head of the department. They will be the guests of the United States destroyer Stillman, and will make a three-week voyage to Bermuda as part of the vessel's crew, returning to Boston on July 3.
Remaining members of the Harvard unit of the N. R. O. T. C. who have applied for membership in the cruise which is annually offered by the government to naval students, are scheduled to embark in the U. S. S. Arkansas from the port of Boston on August 27, returning on September 16. They will make the trip in company with the corresponding units of the universities of Yale and Northwestern, and of Georgia Tech.
Owing to strict governmental economy and to the reduction of naval armaments the Arkansas is the only cruiser which will be available for much work this summer.
