NEW CLASSES IN BOXING WILL BE OPENED TODAY

Fundamentals of Sport Will be Taught at Half Speed--Fulfills Freshman Exercise Requirements

Starting today, for the first time in years, boxing classes will be given three times a week by Coach Larry Conley in the New Indoor Athletic Building. They will be held at 4 o'clock every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and will continue as long as enough interest is shown.

The fundamental blows and blocks are to be taught, all at half speed. One of the objects in view is to give experience to men who may be considering teaching boxing at summer camps. Also this exercise, which incidentally fulfills the Freshman requirement, ably fills in the gap between winter and spring sports. Coach Conley experts that quite a few men will come out who have been engaged in sports other than boxing, such as wrestling or swimming.

Any of the men who anticipate becoming instructors in the sport this summer may have an opportunity to conduct some of the classes themselves. There is a chance that two different classes will be organized, one for beginners and the other for those more experienced in the sport.
