POLO TRIO BEATS PENN MILITARY IN NEW YORK MATCH

Blue Must Concede Six Goals to Low-Handicapped Opponent--Harvard is Favorite Tomorrow

The University polo team won its right to enter the finals of the intercollegiate indoor championship when it rode to a victory of 9 to 7 1-2 points over Pennsylvania Military College last night at the Squadron C Armory in Brooklyn.

Harvard's victory was not unexpected in view of the six goals which its opponent had to concede at the beginning of the game. H. I. Nicholas, Jr. starred for the Crimson aggregation, scoring a total of three goals, while Captain E. T. Gerry '31 followed with a single goal. The Harvard trio played rather raggedly at the beginning, permitting the opposing team to catch up on its handicap lead, but the Crimson mallet men picked up again at the end to win the game by a scant margin.

Yale defeated Princeton last night in the other semi-final bracket by a 9 to 7 score, so the two rivals will meet in the finals tomorrow night. In view of the fact that Harvard recently beat the Tigers by a much larger margin, and since the Crimson trio will be receiving a six-goal handicap from the Bulldogs, it would seem that the University team has at least an even break for the championship.
