Yale's student council announced yesterday that it intended to assume the function of a court of appeals for undergraduates. It will act in this capacity when students who have been the subject of discipline from the faculty feel that they have not had fair warning preliminary to punishment for misdeeds.
This is the first time that the council has assumed this position, as it has been only an advisory and intermediary body in the past. The purpose of the resolution is to promote a more satisfactory method of dealing with disorderly conduct, and to provide a better connection between the students and the faculty.
