An underdog Yale football team, led by its invaluable captain Booth, brought to a close the brilliant undefeated record of Captain Wood's Harvard eleven, which after four periods of superb football finally succumbed by a score of Yale 3, Harvard 0.
FIRST PERIOD
Yale won the toss and chose to depend the sunny side to kick to Harvard. Sensational playing began by Rotan kicking to Wood, the Harvard captain. By a lateral Crickard proceeded 25 yards to the Yale goal line, being forced out on Yale's 5-yard line. In two successive plays Crickard and White failed to gain. On the fourth down, Wood attempted a short pass but landed untouched on the Yale end zone.
Yale took the ball on her own three yard stripe. Parker kicked to Crickard on Harvard's 38-yard line. Wilbur of Yale smothered a buck by Sherry. On the next play a mix-up in backfield forced the ball to Harvard's 32-yard line. Then Wood kicked to Booth, who was downed in his tracks on Yale's 41-yard stripe.
Crowley gained a yard on the first play. Booth's attempted line buck was stopped at line of scrimmage. On the third down Parker kicked to Crickard, Harvard taking the ball on her 22-yard line. Crickard gained a yard off tackle, but was nailed on second play for no gain. On third down Yale was offside, and was penalized five yards. Wood called for a play by Sherry and the first down resulted. Crickard failed to gain around Yale's right end. He was nailed again for no gain. On the third down. Wood kicked, Yale taking the ball on her own 33-yard line. Crowley gained three yards through Harvard line. Booth was thrown for a loss on attempted criss-cross. On the third down, Parker kicked to the Harvard end zone. Harvard forces took possession of the ball on their own 20-yard line. Time out for Yale.
With the ball in play again, Sherry went off tackle for four yards and for the second time on the same play, added two more. Crickard went off tackle for a yard. Yale was offside and penalized five yards giving Harvard first down on her own 31-yard line. Yale was offside again and penalized five yards, advancing the ball to the Harvard 36-yard line. Crickard added two yards, but Harvard was penalized 15 yards on the play for holding.
Sherry gained two yards through the centre of the line, but Crickard was thrown for a loss on an attempted end sweep. Wood kicked to Booth on the Yale 48-yard line, where he was downed in his tracks by Nazro.
Crowley failed to penetrate through the Harvard line. He was nailed again on next play for a scant yard gain. Parker fumbled the ball but Rotan recovered it. Parker's kick to Crickard was grounded by Barres, Yale giving the ball to Harvard on the Crimson six-yard line. Sherry's line plunge netted three yards, while on the second play, he added two more.
On the third down Wood chose to kick and with the wind against him, the Harvard captain's punt went only 35 yards, giving Yale the ball on Harvard's 38-yard line as the period ended.

SECOND PERIOD
On the first play Crowley went through Harvard for five yards. Booth then plunged through center, giving Yale a first down on Harvard's 22-yard line. The Yale captain raced around Harvard's left end for four yards. On the next play a five yard penalty for offside brought the ball to Harvard's 14-yard line. Time out for Yale.
Resuming attack on Harvard's goal line, Crowley took the ball through the center of line, giving Yale a first down on Harvard's 11-yard line. On the next play Crowley went through centre for three yards. Same play again was stopped at line of scrimmage for no gain.
On third down, Crowley brought the ball to Harvard's four-yard line on an off tackle play. The fourth down with three yards to go, Booth dropped back to a kicking position, but his attempt for a field goal was unsuccessful.
Wood of Harvard gave the ball to Crickard for a one yard gain. On the second play Yale stopped Crickard for no gain. On the third down with Crickard holding, Wood made a quick kick to Booth on the Yale 24-yard line, where the Yale signal-caller was downed in his tracks.
Levering gained six yards. Parker kicked on the third down to Crickard on the Harvard 35-yard line and the fleet Crimson left halfback made a tricky 10 yard run-back. Time out for Yale with the ball in Harvard's possession on her own 45-yard line. Esterly replaces Ginman at left guard. With time in Crickard failed to gain on Harvard's first play.

Harvard substituted Mays for Crickard, Talbot for Myerson, Kales for Kopans. Yale substituted Doonan for Betner at center.
With a minute to go Sherry rushed through Yale's center for three yards, and on the second down. Wood's pass to Mays failed when Mays was unable to complete the play. The same pass, tried against Yale's left end, was completed advancing the ball to Yale's 35-yard line. Finlayson replaced Hardy for Harvard. With inches to go for a first down and a minute to play, Harvard's last play was held up at the line of scrimmage and Yale took the ball on her own 35-yard line.
Harvard substituted Bancroft for Finlayson, Faxon for Kales, while Yale put in Bouscaron for Hall, right tackle, Sullivan for Parker. Harvard then substituted Cunningham for Hallowell, Moushegian for Record, Nevin for Sherry.
With seconds to go before end of the half, Booth unloosened two forwards, one to Sullivan, but both were grounded by Harvard secondaries. Yale subs: Converse for Rotan. Harvard subs: Gleason for White, Wells for Wood.
The half ended as Booth was downed by Moushegian.

THIRD PERIOD
Wood kicked to Lassiter on the five yard Yale line. The sophomore Eli halfback threw a nifty pass to Wilbur, who was downed by Crickard for a 20-yard gain. On the second down Lassiter was nailed by sherry for no gain. On next play with seven yards to go, Crowley was thrown for seven yards. Parker kicked from his own 45-yard line to the Harvard 10-yard marker, Crickard running the ball back to his own 23-yard line.
On the first play Crickard fumbled on his own 25-yard line. Yale recovered the ball on Harvard's 25-yard line. Crowley failed to gain. On the next play the brilliant Yale right half-back did better, gaining 10 yards for a first down on Harvard's 15-yard line. A play by Lassiter planted the ball with 10 yards to go for a touchdown. Lassiter again carried, gaining about a yard.
On the third down Crowley was thrown for a four-yard loss when Hageman and Wood broke up his attempted end run play. On the fourth down Lassiter attempted a pass, but the toss was short and Harvard took the ball on her own 11-yard line after a brilliant stand.
On the first play, Sherry carried the ball out of bounds. On the third down the same quick kick from placement was tried with Wood kicking and Crickard holding. Hageman tackled Parker on Yale's 34-yard line. Following this the Harvard forward wall stiffened considerably and two Yale plays failed to advance the ball.
On the second play, Hardy, burly left tackle, received a slight bump and Wood called for time out. The Harvard lineman was soon on his feet again and on the third down, Yale kicked, Parker's punt searing forty yards to White who was forced out on Harvard's 44-yard line.
The spinner play that Harvard has used throughout the season failed to gain. On the second play, a forward, Wood to White, gained only three yards. On the third down Wood kicked, Parker taking the ball on his own 30-yard line, running it back a good 10 yards.
On the next play Crowley carrying, Yale noted six yards. Crowley again carried for no gain. Parker kicked on the third down, his punt going to Crickard on Harvard's 25-yard line, after which the Crimson safety man ran it back 10 yards.
With the ball in their possession on their own 36-yard line, Wood tried a long pass to White which failed. The same play, repeated again, was incomplete. A Yale penalty for interfering with an eligible receiver, gave Harvard a first down on her 38-yard line. On the next play, a lateral pass, Sherry to Wood, gave Harvard another first down on Yale's 39-yard line.
Crickard slashed through Yale's line for five yards. Supported by beautiful interference, Crickard swept around Yale left end for about 12 yards, the ball resting comfortably in Harvard's possession on the Eli 34-yard stripe.
Time out for Harvard. Yale substituted Hawley for Flygare. Harvard's temporary march was ended with the resuming of play, when Barres recovered a pass in the Yale 35-yard line.
Crowley gained 2 yards through center, Lassiter ripped through for a Yale first down, bringing the ball to Yale's 45 yard line. Crowley rushed the ball to midfield.
On the next play Crowley carried the ball to Harvard's 44-yard line for the second Yale first down. Crowley hit the line savagely for two yards. Lassiter's pass to Parker failed. As the period ended with Yale in possession with the ball on Harvard's 42-yard line. Third down with eight yards to go as the Yale stands rose in a body to give the Blue jersey eleven a cheer.
