Something like a sensation was created at the Harvard Freshman Union yesterday when the 1935 Tea Dance Committee posted twelve telegrams it has received from great and near-great surrounding a picture of a Hollywood film beauty autographed to the Dance Committee. Groups of first year men congested the hallway in their attempts to read the huge "Exhibit A" as it dangled from the neck of a buffalo head.
"In order to share the messages which have poured in concerning the coming tea dance the Union committee has decided to publish facsimiles of the telegram which have intimidate its office," the bulletin reads. "The originals are under glass at 4591 Chizzleworth Hall."
Asked last night whether the Dance committee would comply with Aimee McPherson's telegram. "Be sure to give half of your profits to the unemployed stop", R. R. Borden, Jr., dance chairman in Wigglesworth, said that the committee was not counting its chickens before they hatched. He refused to comment on the authenticity of the Joan Crew ford autograph.
