COLLECTIONS SWELL UNEMPLOYMENT SUM WITH NEARLY $7000

The collection for the unemployed made at the Holy Cross-Harvard football game on Saturday totalled $6,945.38. Half of this sum will go to the Reverend Father John M. Fox, S.J., President of Half Cross, and the remaining half to President Lowell of Harvard, for distribution to the unemployed us they see fit.

Last Saturday's collection exceeds that taken at the Dartmouth game by more than $1,000. The Student Council, which is responsible for the plan, felt satisfied that the new arrangements in force at the Holy Cross game for improving the collection-taking had justified their use, and the same arrangements will be used for the Yale game this week-end.

Contributions to the fund from those alumni who will not attend any of the three games are being received by the Student Council through the Harvard Athletic Association. A number of contributions have already been received and will be included as part of the total Harvard fund to be distributed at the end of the season.

Taking into consideration the increase of collections this last week over those of the Dartmouth game, it appears likely that a much larger amount yet will be collected at the Yale game Saturday. The total sum collected in all three games will make a considerable amount to be used in the form of charity decided on.
