To the Editor of the CRIMSON:
I have often thought that Harvard men, at football games, could use another cheer in addition to those we new have. After all, we have but two, the "short cheer" and the "regular Harvard cheer", with the occasional slight variation for player or team. I thought that a third cheer, in keeping with the form and style of the Harvard cheer and in its tradition, would be a welcome addition.
My suggestion is the following, based on a familiar type, the "spell-it out type:
"H-A-R-V-A-R-D (slowly spelled out)
Rah! Rah! Rah! (slowly)
H-A-R-V-A-R-D (done faster)
Rah! Rah! Rah! (ditto)
H-A-R-V-A-R-D (done quickly)
Team! Team! Team (ditto)
If you think this idea has any merit at all, you might pass it along with your comment to the cheer leaders. Arthur Broustein '24. Baltimore, Md.
