REQUEST FREE TUITION FOR RESIDENTS OF CAMBRIDGE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In view of the fact that Harvard, Radcliffe and M. I. T. own a great deal of land in the City of Cambridge on which no tax is exacted, the Cambridge City Council last night drafted a resolution asking that the three institutions named permit young men and women of college age resident in the city to attend college there free of charge.

Dean Hanford, when called last night, made the following statement: "Harvard provides scholarships for graduates of Cambridge schools, which are equivalent to free tuition. Last fall no applicant for one of these awards was denied it."
