VISIBILITY OF SOLAR ECLIPSE COMMENCES AT 3:30 O'CLOCK

A solar eclipse, the last to be seen in the United States for 40 years, will be visible to Cambridge residents this afternoon between 3.30 and 5.17 o'clock, daylight saving time. Maximum darkness will take place at 4.30 o'clock.

A total eclipse will occur in the United States in a band one-half mile wide extending from San Francisco Bay to Montana.
