Yesterday afternoon in the Boston Garden, the Harvard Freshman hockey forces overpowered the Andover stickmen by a 5 to 0 score.
Andover was expected to give the Crimson first year men a royal battle in this game as its record so far this season had been unstained. The schoolboys had not only defeated the M.I.T. Freshmen and swamped the Cushing Academy sextet, but by means of a goal which came ten seconds before the end of the game, they had eked out a victory over the always powerful Newton High team.
The game was fast and well played in the first two periods, after which Harvard led by a two goal margin.
Andover tired in the third period and the Crimson tallied three times more.
The summary: Score--Harvard 5, Andover 0. Goals--First period: Stone. Second period: Pell. Third period: Putnam, Everett, Putnam. Referees--Rocque, and Foley. Time--Three 15-minute periods.
