University squash team A defeated Newton Center in an incompleted match Saturday while Freshman team D suffered a 5 to 0 defeat at the hands of the Newton Y.M.C.A. Only three matches were played with Newton Center but they all were won by the Harvard racquetmen, who thus assured themselves of victory regardless of the outcomes of the two remaining matches.
The match between Ogden Phipps '31 and Rice will be played today while N.F. Glidden '31 and Cooke will oppose each other tomorrow.
The win of A.C. Ingraham '31 over Stuart, captain of the Newton Center team, was one of the surprises of the match. Ingraham's game has not been consistent and his matches in which he displayed command of the situations have been interspersed with games in which he faltered. Saturday he dropped but one game to Stuart who had not suffered a defeat in the inter-club league tourney.
If either Phipps or Glidden can win his match Harvard will mount to third place on the class A rank list.
