Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Taking for his subject "The Decline of Civil Liberties in America," Harry Elmer Barnes, author, professor, and journalist, will speak tonight at Emerson F at 8.00 o'clock. The talk is sponsored by the Harvard Liberal Club and is open to all members of the University. Barnes will answer questions after the lecture.
With the opening of Congress, the Liberal Club has sent telegrams to Senator William E. Borah and to Claude A. Swanson, of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, urging action on the World Court protocols.
The telegrams read as follows: "Resolved. That the Harvard Liberal Club emphatically supports President Hoover in submitting the World Court protocols to the Senate and urges the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to act upon them without delay."
If, as is hoped, the protocols are submitted, the Liberal Club suggests further that students write to their respective senators urging favorable action upon them.
