Captain Bruce Bairnsfather, English humorous lecturer; Charles Townsend Copeland, Boylston Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory, Emeritus; Kirsopp Lake, Winn Professor of Ecclesiastical History; R. P. Blake, Associate Professor of History; and George Russell, Irish poet, are featured on the Harvard Union program for the coming winter, it was announced last night.
Professor Copeland will give his annual Christmas reading on December 16 this year. It will take place in the main dining hall and will begin promptly at 8:30 o'clock. The attendance will be limited to the capacity of the room and tickets must be secured at the news stand beginning a week before the reading.
Humorous Lecture
Captain Bairnsfather is England's famous humorous lecturer and cartoonist. He will deliver a lecturer in the main living room and also draw charcoal sketches of his comic strip characters. Russell has attained great fame in Ireland as a poet, painter, and economist. The subject of his speech is not yet known, but it is believed he will talk on the advantages of rural life, and returning "back to the farm", as he has been making speeches all over the country on this subject.
Blake and Lake will tell about their expedition in Asia Minor, where they made a number of plaster casts of historical objects.
