A third alternative offering a considerable reduction in the eating requirements of the two Houses, and a five day extension of time in which prospective members may apply for the Houses was announced yesterday at University Hall as the result of student protest over the conditions originally set forth. (CRIMSON, November 26). Upon the advice of the Student Council Committee on the House Plan and Junior members of the Council, a third rate of $7.50 for any 10 meals a week has been established.
Extend Applications
The time in which Juniors may apply for admission to Lowell and Dunster Houses will be extended from December 10 to the night of December 15, following the consent of the Masters allowing the extension. Applications for Lowell and Dunster Houses may be filed at A University Hall until 1 o'clock, Saturday, December 14, and between 1 o'clock Saturday, and 10 o'clock Sunday evening, December 15, with Mason Hammond '25, Senior Tutor of Lowell House at George Smith A-21, and with E. S. Mason, Senior Tutor of Dunster House at 7 Stoughton Hall.
The Masters will notify the men from the Class of 1931 who have been admitted to their respective Houses on December 20, when a complete list of the men selected in each House will be published in the CRIMSON.
Applications Close January 15
Pamphlets and application blanks will be sent to members of the Class of 1932 and the Class of 1933 about December 16, and the applications will close on January 15.
According to present plans, the decision of the Masters regarding members of the Sophomore Class admitted to their respective Houses will be announced on February 3 and for members of the present Freshman Class about February 15. On the latter date papers will be sent to all the men selected for the two Houses concerning the assignment to definite rooms, which papers must be filed by February 21. The assignment of rooms will be announced February 28.
