The University soccer team defeated Worcester Polytechnic Institute 3 to 0 in the opening game or the season at Soldiers Field Saturday afternoon.
The victory marks the opening of the regime of J. F. Carr '28 as soccer coach. The former University captain expressed himself as encouraged at the showing of his charges after the game. The appearance of seven Sophomores in the starting lineup and the playing throughout the game seems to indicate that the season may at least prove more successful than the past few have been. There was of course apparent in Saturday's contest a good deal of ragged play which Coach Carr will set out to eliminate in this week's work.
