"THE SPHINX GARRULOUS" IS TITLE OF BOOK BY BRIGGS

Le Baron Russell Briggs '75, former dean of Harvard College and President of Radcliffe, has announced the publication of another book of charades, entitled "The Sphinx Garrulous: Charades Versified and Diversified."

The author was assistant professor of English from 1885 to 1890, and dean of the college from 1891 until 1902. For 20 years he was President of Radcliffe, retiring in 1923 to devote himself to literature. A portrait of Dean Briggs by Kanil Nakamura has been loaned to the Harvard Club of Boston by Radcliffe College.
