ARMSTRONG, GREEN CAPTAIN, BACK

Hanover, N. H., Oct. 23--Dartmouth's football team went through its new formations this afternoon behind closed gates. A scrimmage that was scheduled for this afternoon's workout was called off for fear of injuries which the members of the varsity squad might sustain.

The Dartmouth scouts, including "Wife" Jennings '00, Jim Donnelly '20, and Frank Dorney '21, arrived in Hanover yesterday and assisted Coach Cannell with the practice today. Captain Ellsworth Armstrong was released from the College Infirmary yesterday morning, and reported for practice in the afternoon. "Cowboy" Coles replaced Hank Barber at tackle owing to an injury which Barber sustained while in the Columbia game. He is now receiving treatment and is expected to be in shape for Saturday's encounter. Armstrong and Booma spent some time practicing kickoffs, as it is doubtful whether or not Paul Crehan will be in the starting lineup on Saturday.

The Gray team, with their blue prints in hand, ran through the various Harvard plays, with the varsity teams on the defense. Coach Cannell is very skeptical about the ability of his team to stop such an attack, as they have not as yet met any team that uses such an assortment of passes as Harvard has been reported to have.
