DORMITORY GROUPS FOR FRESHMEN ARE NAMED BY PROCTORS

Chairmen Will Constitute Temporary Executive Committee--Brattle Street House Represented

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The four Freshman dormitory committees, selected annually to assist the proctors in directing Freshman affairs, were announced yesterday at University Hall. The appointments, which were made by the head proctors in each dormitory, have been approved by Matthew Luce '91. Regent of the University, and take effect immediately.

In the selection of the committees an attempt was made to secure representatives of as many sections of the country as possible, in addition to appointing men capable of filling the positions. With this view in mind, men from both public and private schools have been chosen. There are 18 representatives of private schools and nine of high schools.

Batchelder to Direct Destinies

This year, in addition to selecting men from Standish, Gore, McKinlock Smith and Shepherd Halls, a man was chosen to represent 44 Brattle Street.

The four head proctors and S. L. Batchelder '31, chairman of the Student Council Committee on Freshman Affairs, have general supervision over the activities of the dormitory groups. When committee chairmen have been named in each hall, the four chairmen will constitute the temporary executive committee of the Freshman Class, and under Batchelder's direction they will manage all 1933 activities until the election of officers for the class later.
