The University basketball quintet meets the Middlebury team tonight at 8 o'clock in Hemenway Gymnasium.

The Harvard five is the favorite in tonight's contest, having won both its games this season, while the Middlebury five has a doubtful rating due to its recent defeat at the hands of West Point.

This game is the first for the Crimson since the Christmas vacation. Coach Wachter expects the team to follow up the two victories it made over Northeastern and Worcester with another although he said yesterday that the team's defense work was not up to standard. T. G. Upton '31, who scored nine baskets against Northeastern and seven against Worcester will occupy the center's berth. H. T. Wenner '30 and D. J. O'Connell '29 will have regular places at forward. J. S. Rex '31, whose form has been improving, showed up unusually well in the Worcester game, and is expected to be a high scorer tonight. T. E. Farrell '31, captain of last year's freshman outfit, will occupy the position at right guard, while Rex will be in the opposite berth.

New Scoring Combination

Tomorrow night the University team meets the undefeated M. I. T. team at M. I. T. in what promises to be the outstanding game of the season. M. I. T. has its strongest team in years, and has completely outclassed all its opponents so far. Harvard's scoring combination of Upton and Rex is expected to show up well tonight as result of the drilling which Coach Wachter has been giving them since the Christmas recess. Since the Worcester game, the team has been working on a number of new plays, which have improved their form considerably.
