University Tennis Stars Score Sweep in Doubles--Freshmen Shut Out Dean Academy 6 to 0.

The University tennis team took the measure of the Cornell netmen on the Divinity courts Saturday afternoon, 7 to 2; while the Freshmen shut out Dean Academy, 6 to 0. The University players won four out of six singles and all the doubles from their opponents in a decisive fashion.

The 1931 racquetmen experienced little difficulty in blanking Dean Academy on the Jarvis Field courts.

Singles B. H. Whitbock '29 defeated Levin (C), 6-3, 6-1; M. T. Hill '30 defeated Becket (C), 6-4, 6-2; J. H. Appleton '29 defeated Hulstend (C), 3-6, -3, 6-3; Custer (C) defeated Arthur Ingraham Jr. '30, 6-3, 6-4; Runey (C) defeated C. R. Hamlen '30, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, F. B. Ward '30 defeated Diet rich (C), 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles Hill and F. K. Trask Jr. '30 defeated Becket and Dietrich (C), 6-2, 6-2; Whitbock and Ward defeated Levin and Halstead (C), 6-0, 6-3. Hamleu and Ingraham defeated Runey and Custer (C), 6-0, 6-0.

Singles A. C. Ingraham '31 defeated Messer (D), 6-2, 6-0; W. I. Breese '31 defeated Burke (D), 6-1, 8-6, T. G. Upton '31 defeated Van Pattern (D), 6-1, 6-2, R. I. Tower '31 defeated Lass (D), 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles Breese and Ingraham defeated Messer and Burke (D), 6-0, 6-2. Upton and G. S. Greene '31 defeated Van Pattern and Dugerty (D) 6-0, 6-1.
