1931 Players Keep Slate Clean by Winning From Yale First Year Outfit

New Haven, Conn., May 30--The Harvard Freshman baseball team kept its record unspotted by defeat by winning from the Yale Freshmen, 8 to 7, in a game replete with bad baseball.

The Crimson first year men opened the scoring with four tallies in the opening inning and four more in the fifth. Two hits and a little wildness on the part of the Eli hurlers presidia the scoring opportunities in both cases.

All the Yale runs came in the second frame, on two hits, three walks, three errors, and a hit batter. The last four innings of the game were slow and listless, except for the two Eli double plays.
