Pounding the opposing hurler for 19 hits, the Second University baseball team decisively defeated the Tufts first year aggregation by a 16 to 5 score in a seven inning contest on Soldiers Field yesterday. Earlier in the season, the Freshman nine whipped the same team by a 13 to 6 count.
J.J. Carver '30 was the heavy hitter on the Crimson outfit, collecting four hits, two of which were triples, out of four trips to the plate. E. R. Todd '29 and R. H. Barbour '30 slammed out a triple apiece.
J.S. Cunningham '29, on the mound for the Seconds, limited the opposing batters to six safe hits. Although none of them fanned, they were, for the most part, unable to knock his offerings out of the infield.
