The directors of the Harvard Alumni Association will be elected this year by the alumni of Harvard University out of a total of nine candidates chosen by the nominating committee of the Association. The men who have been suggested to fill the offices are as follows:
E. J. Lake '92 of West Hartford, Connecticut, who has been an active man in state politics.
Nathan Hayward '95, president of the American Dredging Company, president of the American Shipyard Company, vice-president of the Philadelphia Belt Line Rail Road Company, and a director and trustee of several other concerns.
Ayres Boal, S.B. '00, of Chicago is in the real estate investment business and at present vice-president for industrial development of the Chicago Association of Commerce.
W. T. Foster '01 of Newton is now the director of the Pollak foundation, an organization founded for the purpose of conducting economic research; from 1910 to 1920 he was president of Reed College, Portland, Oregon, and had formerly been a lecturer at Columbia and a professor at Rowdoin.
C. S. Sargent '02 of New York City, is a member of the firm of Kidder, Peabody and Company, a member of the governing committee of the New York Stock Exchange and director of several well known firms in New York City.
George Whitney '07 is a member of the firm of J. P. Morgan and Company, New York, a director of General Motors Corporation, the Guaranty Trust Company, and many other important well-known companies. In his senior year at college, Whitney was manager of the University crew.
G. W. Martin '10 lives in New York City and works in the law firm of Emmet, Marvin, and Martin.
W. H. Claflin Jr. '15 is a resident of Boston. He is a member of the banking firm of Tucker, Anthony and Company, and holds many other important positions.
E. L. Bigelow '21 is also a member of the banking firm of Tucker, Antony and Company, and in addition is a director of the Children's Aid Association of Boston.
