Julius Seligson of Lehigh defeated Captain B. H. Whitbeck '29 after a three-set match to keep the Harvard tennis team from whitewashing the Lehigh netmen on, Divinity Courts yesterday afternoon. The Crimson won eight out of nine matches.
The first year netmen overwhelmed the M. I. T. Freshmen without dropping a single set in the nine matches.
The summary of the University match follows:
Singles--Seligson (L.) defeated Whitbeck, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5; Hill defeated Trumbull (L.) 6-1, 6-3; Arthur Ingraham Jr. '30 defeated Wyckoff (L.) 6-3, 6-1; E. B. Ward 30 defeated Usher (L.) 6-3, 6-4; J. H. Appleton '29 defeated Spangler (L.) 6-3, 15-13; C. R. Hamlen '30 defeated Epstein (L.) 6-8, 6-3, 6-4.
Doubles--Hill and Trask defeated Seligson and Trumbull (L.) 6-3, 2-6, 7-5; Whitbeck and Ward defeated Wyckoff and Spangler (L.) 6-2, 6-2; Ingraham and Hamlen defeated Usher and Epstein (L.) 6-2, 6-4.
