SECONDS ENCOUNTER TUFTS 1931

University Diamond Underlings Enter Third Contest Today

With victories over the Technology Beavers and Cambridge Latin to its credit, the Second University baseball team will meet the Tufts Freshman nine this afternoon in its third encounter of the season. The Tufts first year aggregation which defeated Thayer Academy on Thursday, is reputed to be a hard-hitting outfit and is expected to put the picthing staff of the Crimson Seconds to a severe test.

E. L. Molloy '29 will probably start on the mound for the Second nine, with E. A. Colpak '29 as a relief pitcher. The latter, who started against the Cambridge Latin team, allowed only two hits and struck out seven in four innings of service. Molloy, who went the rest of the route in that game, fanned five, while only two of the opposing batters were able to connect with his offerings. John Tudor '29 and A. L. Devens '30 are the leading hitters on the Second team.

The Tufts batting aggregation is lead by Ockert, Shea, and Muskativz. Shea has the reputation of being a consistent long distance hitter.
