SOCCER MEN START ON 5 WEEKS OF PRACTICE

Soldiers Field Work-Out Initiates Spring Drilling Period--Team for Next Fall Being Prepared

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With the practice held yesterday afternoon at Soldiers Field the University soccer squad started its five weeks spring practice. Although there were practices two afternoon before the vacation the workout yesterday afternoon was the real start of the drill which Coach Jack Kershaw will put his men through in the next-month.

With only a few days before the first scheduled game next fall, Coach Kershaw will be forced to pick this first team on the showing made by the men on the squad this spring.

The fundamentals of the game: heading, trapping, passing, and goal kicking, will be emphasized in the first weeks of work and arrangements are now being made for a number of practice games for the latter part of the season.

The team will probably play the Lawrence Soccer Club, the Fore River Shamrock and the Abbott Worsted team.
