C. C. Alpern '28, of Pittsburgh, Pa., was announced last night as the recipient of the Coolidge prize for debating by Coach E. M. Rowe '27. The Coolidge prize, consisting of $100, is awarded each year to the man preparing the best speeches for the debates against Yale and Princeton.
V. K. Kwong '29, A. L. Raffa ocC., and J. M. Swigert '30, representing the affirmative, and A. F. Reel '28, Brooks Otis '29, and C. C. Alpern '28 form the negative team in the recent debates, will be the recipients of the Coolidge medal, given to the men participating in the triangular debates.
