RED BOOK TO START DRIVE NEXT WEEK

The 1931 Red Book competition for committee positions, sub-chairmanships, and chairman of the Arts and Cuts committee will commence on Wednesday evening at 7.15 o'clock at a meeting in the Smith Halls Common Room, it was announced last night by the Board of Chairmen of the Red Book.

This competition, the last of its kind in University activities open to Freshmen, will last ten days, definite results being announced before the spring vacation. An excellent position is available in the form of chairman of the Arts and Cuts Committee, who also receives a position on the Executive Board of the Freshman class. Sub-chairmanships and committee posts are open in the Editorial, Business, Photographic, and Arts and Cuts Committees. Any student desiring information concerning the competition may speak to the committee chairmen.

At the meeting on Wednesday night the work connected with the Red Book will be outlined. A. G. Churchill '29, Editor in chief of the 1929 Red Book, one of the most successful volumes published in recent years, will speak on the nature of the Red Book duties.

On March 26 the first assignments for pictures in the Red Book to be taken at Notman's Studio will be announced, it was stated last night by S. N. Grimes '31, Photographic Chairman. It is absolutely essential, because of the short time remaining before placing the volume on sale, that all Freshmen attend to this matter on the day of their appointments. These pictures of members of the class must all be taken before the opening of spring vacation.
