Flashing one of the strongest attacks that has been seen in Hemenway Gymnasium this year, the University basketball team defeated the strong Holy Cross quintet last night by a score of 51 to 45, in a game that was featured by two overtime periods. Not until the last minute of the second over-time period was the game a Harvard victory.

Taking the lead at the beginning of the contest the University team was at the large end of a 26 to 17 score at the end of the first half. At the close of the last half the score was 40 to 38, when a long shot by Morris, Purple player, tied the score.

In the first over-time period a basket by Harvard and two goals from fouls by Holy Cross tied the score, 42 to 42. At this point both teams suddenly opened up and started shooting fast and recklessly with the result that the University players triumphed in the final over-time period with a six point advantage.

Holy Sross was the strongest team that the Crimson hoopmen have faced this year. Recently the Crusaders won over the Green team of Dartmouth by a score of 30 to 14.

The game last night was rough enough to force six players out because of personal fouls called on them, and Clancey, Holy Cross guard was taken out with an injured knee.

The centers of the two teams were the leading scorers of the contest, M. M. Green '28 with 13 points to his credit equalled the record of Reilly, Crusader center.
