The University Band Club will hold a dinner at the Union tonight, at which A. S. Simmons '24, former band leader, and W. J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics, will be present.
The club is made up of a group of men chosen from the band. Twenty new members are to be elected to the club tonight.
The purpose of the dinner is to talk over the future plans and policies of the organization. One of the most important items to be discussed is the proposed new uniform.
The dress used by the University musicians at present is satisfactory, but that improvement might be made is the conviction felt by a number of the men since the Indiana Band paraded around the Stadium last fall.
It is very difficult to decide upon a new uniform, however, since all-Crimson outfits would scarcely be suitable. If khaki were to be used, the Harvard organization would be trespassing on military grounds. Tonight the musicians will seek a solution for their problem.
It has also been announced that H. L. Holland '28, who will be in the Law School next year, has been chosen to conduct the band during the coming season. The University Band will play at the Dartmouth and Yale hockey games and at the Harvard-Dartmouth-Cornell triangular track meet.
