HEAVY AMHERST QUINTET DOWNS CRIMSON HOOPMEN

LATHAM, VISITING FORWARD, IS HIGH SCORER

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After leading the Amherst quintet for over three quarters of the game, the University basketball team was finally defeated by a score of 35-32 in its contest last night in Hemenway Gymnasium. In the first half, J. N. Barbee '28 was forced out of the contest because of four personal fouls called on him.

The Amherst aggregation was somewhat heavier and faster than the Crimson players, and appeared to have more endurance than the Harvard hoopmen.

Van Miller was Amherst's chief mainstay; he was especially good on the defensive, time and again his long reach and heavier weight snatching away many Harvard goals.

With 13 points to his credit, Latham, Amherst forward, was the leading scorer of the contest. W. H. Green '28, Crimson center, followed with 11 points.

The summary is as follows: HARVARD  AMHERST Wenner, r.f.  l.g., Wilson Baldwin, Slocum, l.f.  r.g., Walker, Meek Green, c.  c., Harmon, Miller Barbee, Burns, Harper, r.g.  l.f., Navin Hatch, l.g.  r.f., Latham
